Opened in 1991
Just north of downtown Dallas, Knox Street Market established a home in the now trendy Knox-Henderson neighborhood's original 1920s storefront. We kept the original tin ceiling, exposed brick wall, concrete floor and filled the space with antique and vintage fixtures/furniture, which we use to house our displays. (Many of our display fixtures are for sale.) Whether you are looking for an unusual European antique furniture piece, your favorite scented candle, a special bowl for your pet, or a gift-certificate for the friend who has everything, we hope you will come see us.
Our inventory is about 50 percent antique/vintage (we call them "treasures") and 50 percent "new, " which makes your visit to Knox Street Market a different experience every time. We are not a chain or mass-merchandiser so our assortment and quantities are small, which makes your shopping experience more unique. Our buyers are always looking for new items a bit different and old items that will quickly become treasures for you or make perfect gifts. Our goal is to provide a truly wonderful boutique shopping atmosphere.
We don't use computers to ring up sales -- we still believe in handwriting sales tickets. We still offer a 90-day layaway along with "modern payment conveniences" of Visa, Mastercard, American Express, debit cards, checks and cash. Gifts certificates, gift and "wish list" registries are available, too.
The photographs on the website are representative of the items we stock. We ask that you come see us or call us about specific items. Currently, Knox Street Market has a variety of vintage and antique furniture, old books, vintage silverplate and serving pieces. Our "new" merchandise includes needlepoint pillows, cat and dog accessories, lamps, prints, and throws. Knox Street Market also carries a wide variety of candles (including Tyler Candles), friendship bells by Jewelry John, and scripture bangles. We can discuss special orders on some merchandise. Custom orders for monogrammed soap and address stamps make unique gifts.
